The James Hunter Six
About this event
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter James Hunter has been a fixture in the British soul scene for more than three decades, and his gritty voice and sharp songwriting have earned him acclaim around the world. Hunter has toured the world for decades as the leader of his band, the James Hunter Six. He has also shared the stage with legends such as Mavis Staples, Aretha Franklin, B. B. King, Etta James, and Bonnie Raitt. Whether belting out up-tempo R&B or crooning candlelit ballads, Hunter is a must-see performer who leaves audiences captivated and craving more. The James Hunter Six’s latest record, Off the Fence, was released in January. It includes the song “Ain’t That a Trip,” which reunites Hunter with longtime collaborator Van Morrison for their first new duet in decades. The album also marks a fresh start as Hunter’s first release on the Easy Eye Sound label, run by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. Delivering another dose of timeless rhythm and soul, Off the Fence is a perfect amalgam of everything audiences love about Hunter’s distinctive songwriting, delivery, and outlook.
